    The company's three founding directors, Jeff Moore, Steve Baker and Jerry Elphick, had their roots as engineers within Lucas Industries, now TRW and Delphi. MBE was founded in order to provide powertrain control systems during a time of intense technological change within motorsport. The techniques employed enabled rapid development of the company and to the subsequent growth of MBE Systems.
